UJ 2025 Applications are now open

Looking to further your studies at UJ for the 2025 academic year? well, you can apply now. Applications for the 2025 academic year are officially open at the University of Johannesburg and will close on the 31st of October 2024.

University of Johannesburg (UJ) is one of the 26 universities in South Africa and is situated in the Gauteng province. The institution has a total of four campuses with 8 faculties (Faculty of humanities, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Arts and Design, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment.

Want to study at UJ?

If you want to study at UJ, take not of the following before you begin with your online application.

1. UJ Required Documents: University of Johannesburg require the following documents;

• ID (certified copy)
• Matric Certificate (certified copy) OR
• Matric Statement (certified copy)
• Grade 11 report (If in matric)

      2. UJ Requirements: Do the following to stand a better chance of being accepted at U;

• Apply for courses you qualify for 
• Apply for courses you exceed requirements. For example if a course require an aps of 23 at least have 25 points
• Also check subject requirements. For example if a course require a level 5 in English and you have level 4 it means that you do not qualify.

• Meeting requirements does  not guarantee that you will be accepted at UJ

      3. UJ Application Fee: Take note of the following when it comes to UJ application fee;

• You don't need to pay an application fee for online application
• You need to pay an application fee of R200 if you apply with a form
• Applicants are encouraged to apply online

How to apply at UJ

Below, I will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to apply online at University of Johannesburg (UJ) for 2025 academic year. 

1. Head to the UJ Website:

Start by visiting the UJ website: https://www.uj.ac.za/

2. Begin Your Application:

Locate the online application portal and initiate the process. You'll likely encounter a prompt to accept the application rules. Click "continue" to proceed.

3. Personal Information:

Next, provide your biographical details accurately. Once finished, click "next" to move on.

4. Academic Details:

Enter information about your academic achievements, including your past educational institutions and results.  Don't forget to add the subjects you've studied. Click "next" once you're done.

5. Course Selection:

This is where you choose your path! Select up to two programs you'd like to apply for. You can typically add additional qualifications by clicking "add qualification". Once you've made your choices, click "next".

6. Review and Submit:

Carefully review all the information you've entered to ensure accuracy. Click "continue" to proceed.

7. Create Your PIN and Submit:

Here, you'll create a secure 5-digit PIN for future use.  After accepting the application terms twice, click "Submit Application" to finalize your application.

8. Upload Supporting Documents:

Now, it's time to upload all the required documents.  If you have them ready, select "yes" from the dropdown list and click "next".

9. Uploading Your Documents:

Click "Load/View Document" followed by "Upload document".  Use the "Choose/Browse file" option to navigate to the location where your documents are stored. Select the appropriate document and click "save" to upload it.

10. Finishing Up:

Once you've uploaded all your documents, click "complete upload".

11. Confirmation and Completion:

A confirmation page will be displayed, signifying the successful completion of your application.  Congratulations, you've submitted your application to UJ for 2025!

Finally, ensure that you submit your application before the closing date because the applications submitted after the closing date will not be considered for admission for 2025 academic year. The University of Johannesburg closing date is 31 October 2024.
